Are missing palm trees causing more lightning deaths in Bihar ?

Since Bihar's 2016 liquor ban, lightning fatalities have surged, possibly due to the felling of palm trees traditionally used for toddy. These trees acted as natural lightning rods, and their disappearance correlates with a dramatic increase in lightning strikes, disproportionately affecting rural populations.
